The general metal finishing industry is primarily oriented to various sacrificial coatings applied to a variety of steel parts. Many types of parts such as fasteners, brackets, sheet metals, food and beverage containers, automobile parts etc. are plated with these coatings. These finishes are usually applied to prevent corrosion with coatigns such as zinc, nickel and electroless nickel, enhance surface hardness with coatings such as chromium and titanium nitride and for decorative purposes usign thin platings like bright chromium.
